Hypertrophic Scar Revision (Posterior Arm)

Scar — Pongsak Clinic, Hua Hin

The patient presented with a hypertrophic scar on the posterior arm above the elbow following an earlier injury. The scar had widened and become raised, with irregular branching extensions giving a stellate appearance, and was firmer and more pigmented than the surrounding skin. Treatment was a scar revision: excision of the hypertrophic tissue, careful undermining of the wound edges to relieve tension, and meticulous layered closure along the natural skin tension lines. The follow-up photograph shows the same area replaced by a narrow, well-aligned linear scar that lies flat with the surrounding skin and continues to fade over time. Performed by Dr. Pongsak at Pongsak Clinic, Hua Hin.
